Prayer for Preemies

prayer for preemie

Next week is the Preemie Cup Regatta and Auction put on by Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida.

The photo above is one of my favorites that I took of my nephew around his 1st birthday.

He was 2 pounds 10 ounces when he was born, so this picture is a symbol of hope to parents of preemies.

Health and exploring the world is what we hope for in the life of each baby.

While my nephew was in the hospital, I wrote this prayer and have since wanted to share it for use for all preemies. If you have a preemie or know someone that does, please share this with them. A free download is included at the bottom of this post. If you are a nurse in a NICU or a member of a Hospital that has a Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit, please feel free to post it in the Unit as a community resource.

Prayer for Preemies

Little Lovely One,

You are healthy.  You are vibrant.

You have a strong heart and an alert mind.

All guided by a willful soul.

Your delicate energy will grow steadily in time with your body.

You’ll be just fine.

As a matter of fact, you’ll be exquisite.

You are a treasure of the human species.

You’re in good hands. The best. Right here.

Each nurse radiates gentle loving kindness to you.

Those that surround you are healthy and full of energy.

We are helping you become your best, little lovely one.

Thrive in this new world.

Be full of Love and Clean, Healthy, Strong energy.

May the elements of the earth send you their strength as you grow:  be warmed by the Sun, be grounded by the Earth,

be cleansed by the Ocean, and may your little lungs

be purified and strengthened by the Air.

May angels protect you and let you blossom.

So be it.
